Haitham Elnagar, Export Manager at İnfavori Mobilya, who stated that the Turkish furniture sector stands out internationally by successfully blending modern, contemporary, and traditional lines, made important remarks about the industry.

  • How did 2025 go for the furniture sector? What are your expectations for 2026?

Looking at 2025 in general, I can say that with the changes in the world and the effects of the market, each passing year has seen us move a little further away from the previous year’s level. However, thanks to the values added by the company I work for, its understanding of quality, market research, and investments, we have always managed to maintain our position at the highest level. As of 2026, in line with the targets set and the plans made, we will continue to progress at the highest levels despite these challenging conditions and the crisis environment.

  • What are the top 5 export markets for the Turkish furniture industry? Which new countries do you think could be added to these markets by 2026?

The countries each design appeals to vary. I can say that our products are commercially effective in many countries; however, Nigeria alone accounts for approximately 50% of our total sales. Among the markets where we are starting to be effective, the five countries that stand out for us are Guinea, Tanzania, Angola, Uganda, and Ethiopia. We believe that by 2026, we will have a stronger presence in these markets and will be able to promote our brand to a wider audience.

  • Which countries are the most important competitors of the Turkish furniture industry?

When talking about the most important competitor of the Turkish furniture industry, the first and most obvious country that comes to mind is China. China has a significant market share in many markets in terms of transportation, cost, and production volume. China is Türkiye’s strongest competitor in this field, and this situation sometimes negatively affects our industry.

“I think stylish yet simple designs will be at the forefront in 2026”
  • What will be the trends in the furniture market in 2026?

For a period, there was a move away from wood, and metal details were added to furniture. Although this trend eventually reached saturation, the market now has a renewed need for this type of design. In the pursuit of innovation, products are always given a different feel with different touches in materials such as wood, metal, glass, and mirrors. In upholstered furniture, I think bright, eye-catching, stylish yet simple designs will be at the forefront in 2026 as well.

“As the Turkish furniture industry, we bring together modern, contemporary, and traditional lines”
  • What design and style features do you think make the Turkish furniture industry stand out on the international stage?

As the Turkish furniture industry, we produce harmonious and balanced products that bridge the gap between international market demands and local design sensibilities by combining modern, contemporary, and traditional lines. These blended designs, created through subtle transitions, enable the Turkish furniture industry to stand out on the international stage.

“We will fully comply with global sustainability processes”
  • Sustainability has become part of global trends. Considering the steps taken in recent years towards environmentally friendly production, what roadmap do you plan to draw up in this area for 2026?

We collaborate with certified companies for raw materials and have agreements with recycling companies. As a company, we are taking the necessary steps to ensure that every product that contributes to national capital is evaluated in the most efficient way possible. By 2026, we will support all possible efforts towards developing systems and global sustainability goals and fully comply with these processes.

“We are constantly innovating both ourselves and our production equipment”
  • How do you evaluate Turkish woodworking machines? What percentage of your production is carried out using domestic machines?

We do not distinguish between domestic and foreign machines. We prefer machines that offer the highest performance in their field, and we are constantly innovating both ourselves and our production equipment. We always aim to stay up-to-date and adapt to evolving systems and technologies. We use domestic machines in the initial and intermediate stages of our production.
