Türkiye’s exports increased by 0.3% year-on-year to USD 111.2 billion in the January-May period. Istanbul maintained its position as the leading exporting province, while Ankara recorded the highest export increase in May.

The Ministry of Trade announced the export figures by province of activity for the January-May 2026 period. According to the data, Türkiye’s exports increased by 0.3% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching USD 111.169 billion in the first five months of the year. During this period, exports increased in 40 provinces, while 21 provinces exceeded USD 1 billion in exports. As of May, Istanbul ranked first among the provinces with USD 4.49 billion in exports. It was followed by Kocaeli with USD 3.06 billion, İzmir with USD 2.07 billion, Bursa with USD 1.76 billion, and Ankara with USD 1.35 billion. Compared to the same month of the previous year, Ankara recorded the highest increase in exports in May, with an increase of USD 300 million. Osmaniye, Şırnak, İzmir, and Elazığ also stood out among the provinces posting the strongest export growth.
