TWM Magazine, the new magazine of AIMSAD, the unifying force of the Turkish woodworking machinery industry, which will start its publication life in March-April, will lead the industry on an exciting journey. AIMSAD Secretary General Arif Onur Kaçak talked about TWM Magazine, which will be published in Türkiye and distributed in America, South America, Europe and the Turkic Republics, the most important target markets of the sector.
TWM Magazine, the new international magazine of AIMSAD, which has carried out many studies since its establishment in 2014 to increase the awareness of the Turkish woodworking machinery sector in the international arena, will start its publication life with the March-April issue. Stating that TWM Magazine will undertake a critical task for the sector and will promote the Republic of Türkiye, the Turkish machinery industry, AIMSAD and its member companies, AIMSAD Secretary General Arif Onur Kaçak said; “TWM Magazine will contribute to the industry gaining more competitive advantage in the global arena”.
As AIMSAD, you started 2024 with your new magazine project, TWM Magazine. Can you tell us the story of the magazine?
TWM Magazine’s roots lie in the TWM brand, which was launched in 2020. The power of the TWM brand, which constantly increases its awareness with a series of promotional activities at home and abroad, will provide significant support to TWM Magazine throughout its publication life. As it is known, AIMSAD has also been publishing AIMSAD Magazine, which has the same name as our association since 2015 and has proven its success over the years. AIMSAD Magazine is a project that has been appreciated throughout the industry with its original content for 52 issues. TWM Magazine will set out with the aim of increasing the awareness of our sector, which has turned its face abroad and whose main agenda item is to increase export figures, in the target markets and the number of companies it affects. AIMSAD Magazine already had an experienced team, and with the idea of implementing the TWM Magazine project, we expanded this team further and started our work. TWM Magazine will start its publication life with the March-April issue of 2024 and is a valuable work that will promote both our industry, our country and our companies in potential target markets. AIMSAD Magazine will continue to be published bimonthly as in previous years. TWM Magazine will appeal abroad as a new content.
In which regions will TWM Magazine be distributed? Who is the target distribution audience?
TWM Magazine will be distributed in America, South America, Europe and the Turkish Republics, which are the important export markets of the Turkish woodworking machinery industry. Our target distribution audience is machine distributors and dealers. For this reason, TWM Magazine will be prepared entirely in English. Having TWM Magazine’s content entirely in English will allow Turkish companies to communicate more effectively internationally. This will contribute to the sector gaining more competitive advantage in the global arena. We receive distribution data from our members; our association also has an important database that it has been collecting for 10 years. By bringing these together, we create a distribution network. Trade consultancies also send us information about potential dealer companies in relevant countries. We will start distributing the magazine with 1000 copies. We plan to increase the number of our distributions at WoodTech, Ligna or other fairs that are important for our industry and where our members attend very intensively. In this way, the Turkish woodworking machinery industry will become more visible and effective in the international arena and will come closer to its goal of increasing export rates.
What kind of team did you establish for this project, who will manage the process?
Sıla Acar, who has been the Editor of AIMSAD Magazine since 2021, will continue as our publications officer. As of this year, we have increased her responsibility a little. A journalist friend of ours, Furkan Kablan, joined our team at the beginning of the year. In this restructuring, he will take over the responsibility of our magazine. Ms. Sıla will continue to be responsible for AİMSAD Magazine together with TWM Magazine. Sevda Kaçak, who has been in our team since the establishment of our association and has been responsible for the graphic design of both our magazine and all our other printed works, will continue to design both of our magazines. On the other hand, our unsung hero, Derya Sekmen, who ensures that all our processes are organized in the best way, is working in our team. I will continue to contribute to our work as I have from the very beginning.
“We always raise our goal one step higher in everything we do”
What kind of feedback do you get from your members about TWM Magazine?
Frankly, I don’t really believe in praise given or shown without anything happening. But I have great confidence in myself, my team and our board of directors in this regard. I have no doubt that we will do a great job. I think our members know very well that, as AIMSAD, we try to do our best in everything we undertake. I am very detail oriented, I want to do the best. Of course, I don’t get too involved in the process and interfere with my friends’ work; But in general, I try very hard to get things done in the best way possible. Likewise, our team works in detail in the same way. On the other hand, we have a visionary board of directors that guides us. We do not want to disappoint the trust they have placed in us. Since the association was founded in 2014, we have realized many projects and have a success chart. We always keep up with this chart. We always raise our goal one step higher in everything we do. I think TWM Magazine will be a good success, like our other works.
“We took care to make TWM Magazine a magazine that would express our industry well”
Will TWM Magazine be different in terms of content and design?
All features of the magazine, such as its size, design, content and publication language, will be different from AIMSAD Magazine. Because the purpose of the two magazines is completely different from each other. In recent years, we have seen a high degree of modernization in many areas, from the design of Turkish machines to the working style, and we see this very clearly at fairs. Therefore, we took care to make TWM Magazine a magazine that would express our industry well. Our friends worked very devotedly on the design and created a modern magazine design. TWM Magazine will feature original content and special interviews, just like AIMSAD Magazine; but the contents will not be taken from AIMSAD Magazine. It will be published with 75-80 percent different, new content. In addition, we will frequently include company news in TWM Magazine.
