To discuss the company’s outlook on the Turkish market and its objectives in this market, we met with Enes Morkoç, Branch & Service Manager at IMA Schelling İstanbul, who stated: “We aim to develop new products and concepts to increase our strength in Türkiye.”

- The Turkish woodworking machinery sector has made significant progress, particularly in production, over the past 10 years. How do you assess this process? What needs to be done to ensure the continued success in production?
Since this is our first year in the Turkish market, we are currently collecting data on the market, sector, demand, and needs. While manual product groups are common in the market, significant investments are also being made in automation. To ensure continued success in production, investments in technology and automation must continue to grow steadily.
- How did IMA Schelling decide to invest in Türkiye? What factors did IMA Schelling focus on when making this decision?
As IMA Schelling, we first monitored Türkiye’s export turnover in the woodworking machinery sector for a period. The fact that the country ranked in the top 10 in this regard caught our attention. We wanted to establish a presence in Türkiye, which holds a promising position in the top 10.
- What role does Türkiye’s geographic location and regional trade potential play for you?
Türkiye has an important geographical location. Its proximity to neighboring countries provides significant advantages for us. We believe that providing support from Türkiye to neighboring countries will be faster and more effective. As IMA Schelling, we will improve sales and service to further increase satisfaction.
- Which markets do you serve from Türkiye?
As a company, we currently provide services to the domestic woodworking and furniture manufacturing markets. However, in the near future, we will also begin supporting countries that are neighbors to Türkiye and hold significant potential for our industry.
- You plan to make long-term investments in Türkiye. What plans do you have for strengthening your relationships in Türkiye in the future?
First, we want to increase satisfaction with our products and services. We have confidence in our products and, to strengthen customer relationships, we will enhance our team to meet special requests. We aim to develop new products and concepts to increase our strength in Türkiye.
