Dear TWM Magazine readers,

as President of EUMABOIS, the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers, I am thrilled to talk to you ahead of LIGNA 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for the woodworking industry, taking place in Hannover from 26 to 30 May 2025.

LIGNA has been a key event for our industry for over 50 years, a global meeting point where companies, professionals and innovators come together to discover the latest trends, cutting-edge technologies and sustainable solutions that are shaping the future of woodworking.

In an era of rapidly evolving technology and growing focus on sustainability, LIGNA 2025 will offer a unique platform to:

  • Explore innovations, discovering the latest machines, equipment and digital solutions that optimize production processes and improve efficiency;
  • Promote sustainability, learning about technologies and practices that support responsible forest management and sustainable production;
  • Create connections, linking industry experts, suppliers and business partners from all over the world.

On the other hand, Eumabois represents a key industrial sector in Europe, with an annual turnover of over 7 billion euro, 800 companies and 35,000 employees. Our federation plays a key role in innovation and global competitiveness. Eumabois member companies are world leaders in the production of woodworking machinery and technologies, contributing substantially to the growth and development of the sector internationally.

Our federation stands alongside companies, not only representing the European sector with the relevant institutions and at an international level, but also with concrete projects. An example of this is the ETML project, a platform that collects data from European tools that can be read by the machines that use them. The project will be launched at Ligna 2025.

Among the most significant and strategic markets for the European companies is of course Türkiye, which, with its dynamic furniture and construction industry, represents a growing hub full of opportunities. LIGNA 2025 will offer a special opportunity for Turkish companies to connect with industry leaders, discover new technologies and consolidate their position in the global market.
