The Woodworking Machinery Industrialists Association (AİMSAD) held its 4th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting in İstanbul. The current President, İsmet Toktaş, and the new board were re-elected, renewing their confidence.

The woodworking machinery sector, which achieved exports worth 72 million 705 thousand dollars in the first six months of this year, continues its steady growth. Increasing the export-to-import coverage ratio to 164% and consistently achieving a current account surplus since 2017, the sector’s umbrella NGO, the Woodworking Machinery Industrialists Association (AİMSAD), held its 4th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting in İstanbul with the strong participation of its members. AİMSAD’s current President, İsmet Toktaş, was re-elected votes, renewing the confidence of the members.

“TO SECURE THE FUTURE OF OUR EXPORTS, WE NEED TO LOOK AHEAD”

Immediately after the election, İsmet Toktaş delivered a thank-you speech to the members, stating: “First and foremost, I would like to extend my sincere thanks on behalf of myself and my board of directors for re-electing us to this position. The support we’ve received from you today is a clear indication that we did the right things during our first term. There can be no talk of success without stability. The rules of the game in global trade change with each passing period. As woodworking machinery manufacturers, we will proactively adapt to these rapidly changing rules in order to achieve lasting success in both manufacturing and exports. There are only a few days left until our sector’s most important event, the WoodTech Fair. I wish all our participants success at the fair, which will be held on October 12. Our primary goal for this new term is to strengthen our position in the markets we are already exporting to, and then to explore new alternative markets. As we have done so far, we will continue to develop projects and work with a collective mindset for the benefit of our sector and you, our valued members. Once again, I extend my thanks on behalf of myself and my board of directors for entrusting us with this responsibility, and I wish this new term to be beneficial for our sector.”
