AIMSAD President, İsmet Toktaş, evaluated the performance of the wood processing machinery industry in 2023. Referring to the data regarding export figures, İsmet Toktaş said, “2023 was a very successful year for the woodworking machinery industry, despite a series of economic difficulties experienced both in our country and in the global markets. This success was achieved thanks to the visionary leadership of stakeholders in the industry, their courage to invest in technology and their ability to compete effectively in the global market.”

Toktaş continued: “All stakeholders operating in the sector demonstrated a remarkable performance by launching their new products and services into the domestic and foreign markets without interrupting production and with an innovation-oriented approach. According to 12-month data, we saw that our exports increased by 5.30 percent compared to last year. We achieved a total of 160 million dollars of exports. On the other hand, there was an increase of 17.21 percent in our domestic sales and an increase of approximately 8 percent in production.”

“Our top export market is Russia”

Stating that Russia stands out among the countries to which we increased exports, İsmet Toktaş said: “We have exported a total of 24 million dollars to the Russian market, which we closed with 12-13 million dollars in previous years, by the end of 2023. Bulgaria ranks second with 6 million dollars, while Iraq ranks third with 6 million dollars. Other countries we export to are Spain with 5 million dollars, Algeria with 5 million dollars, Italy with 5 million dollars, and Kosovo with 4 million dollars. It is especially interesting that Italy and Spain are among the countries we export to. These numbers show us that there are good developments.”
